Legaspino dazed the judges and spectators of her answer to Aztec Barba’s question about the greatest enemy of Mother Earth on the Grand Coronation Night held at Mati City Socio-cultural Center on June 16.
The 19 year-old beauty answered that for her, the ‘greatest enemy of nature are the people’
“But DENR or the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is doing its best to protect Mother Earth so let us support them in preserving and conserving the nature because if we save it today, we are not just saving it for ourselves but also for the future generations,” Legaspino continued.
Meanwhile, Cerlyn Cabanit and Sofia Yu, both from Barangay Central hailed as the 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively. This year’s 3rd runner-up is Lucky Zamora of Barangay Dahican followed by Sunshine Abueva of Barangay Libudon as 4th runner-up.
Legaspino, a 3rd year student of the program Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology said that she was encouraged by her friends to join the prestigious pageant and personally, she wanted to experience the feeling of being a candidate “as it is really a life-changing opportunity.”
“I dream to travel and explore more of this wonderful Earth but first, I will finish my studies since it is the first step in achieving my other goals in life,” Legaspino said on an interview.
Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago was among the invited judges of the said pageant.
Legaspino, who followed the reign of Mutya ng Mati 2017, Miss Ethel Louise P. Dupa added that “I will prepare myself for greater responsibilities that will come along with my reign as the Mutya ng City of Mati 2018.” By Van Jorain O. Rufin/CIO
