The local government employees from the Municipality of Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province visits the City Government of Mati to learn more about the implementation and development framework of the City of Mati Eternal Garden on May 25, 2018.
A short welcome program was held at Sangguniang Panglungsod Session Hall which was attended by City Councilor Arman T. Valera, City Planning and Development Office Head Engr. Ariel Mosquera, City Agriculturist Mrs. Eleanor Sambas, Local Civil Registrar Mrs. Cheryl Cabaobao and City Internal Control Unit Head Mr. Roberto Tabudlong.
City Mayor Carlo Luis P. Rabat, duly represented by City Councilor Valera encouraged the envoys from Monkayo to come back again and enjoy the City’s prime tourist destinations on a whole weekend as he also warmly welcomed them on his welcome message.
Furthermore, Engr. Ariel Mosquera presented the construction outline and the development of the new cemetery that was completed last April 21, 2016. Through the effect of the City Ordinance No. 242 series of 2017 or also known as the City of Mati Eternal Garden Ordinance, the new cemetery was opened to the public last October 30, 2017.
Engr. Mosquera presented also the on-going construction façade of the cemetery, progressing landscapes, prioritization of banyan trees and agri-tourism development in the area.
Also, the Monkayo’s delegation took a short tour in Menzi Beach Park and Campsite, Sunflower Maze at Department of Agriculture – Commercial Agriculture Research Site in Brgy. Don Enrique Lopez, Organic Trading Post at City Agriculture’s Office and Subangan Museum. // By Van Jorain Rufin
