Mati National Comprehensive High School dancers and musicians brought home the P500,000 grand prize after winning the Kadayawan sa Davao 2018 Street Dancing Competition on August 19 in Davao City for the open category.
“Super emotional sila [performers] kasi nga first time pa nila mag-join tapos nag-champion pa,” Ian Rozander Apitong, head choreographer of MNCHS.

We gave our best. We went through tears, exhaustion, but coming here was all worth it),” 10th grader Hans Danielle Garanzo, one of the performers of MNCHS, said during an interview with SunStar Davao.
Back home, Mayor Carlo Rabat with First Lady Baby Rabat and Vice Mayor Glenda Rabat-Gayta welcomed the MNCHS and once again witnessed the winning piece of the Tribu Mati High when they performed before the matinians at the Mati Park and Baywalk on August 22.
